THE CLIENT...
Howell Doyle Contracts (HDC) limited is a shopfitting company that specialises in point of sale display and design in all aspects of the shopfitting world.

HDC key client Wickes DIY currently has a portfolio of over 190 stores across the UK and was acquired by Travis Perkins in 2005.

THE PROBLEM...
HDC needed to source tailor made A1 size laminated wall maps to include as part of the Wickes Store shopfit.

The key requirement was to produce a map with a 10 mile radius ring from the store location with 5 radius rings at 2 miles per ring.

This would ensure that the Wickes employees would have a clear indication of the surrounding areas to assist with deliveries.

Acknowledging that the maps would be published on an ad hoc basis, HDC needed to have confidence in the output and know that each map would be identical.

Crucially, the maps would be required quickly so HDC needed to be sure that the chosen supplier could provide the maps within an agreed timescale, to quality and budget- everytime.

THE SOLUTION...
HDC selected Geoplan to produce the store maps and over 40 have been produced since the beginning of the relationship in 2006.

The map specification was designed by Geoplan and HDC to meet the specific business needs; and maps are printed using state-of-the-art digital print technology in colour and laminated for durability.

HDC selected from a wide range of data to produce the maps which include the radius rings. HDC also have the option to map customer locations, and/or county, drivetime or territory boundaries where required.

In just six simple steps, HDC designed the map template with one of the Geoplan expert team. The end result is a standardised map template which meets their exact requirements.
