APPLICATION DEVELOPMENT

Application development is a step beyond customisation. When customisation is applied the user can continue to see and access the standard user interface of the GeoAnalyser. Whereas, application development hides the GeoAnalyser interface from view delivering functionality through an interface, or interfaces designed specifically for each of the nominated user audiences.
This approach can be applied to desktop or web-based applications where simpler forms of access and analysis are required.
Geoplan works to extremely high development standards and is one of only 1,500 software houses in the UK that has achieved TickIT status, an extension of ISO 9001/2000. WHAT WE DO
For more sophisticated requirements, Geoplan offers full application development services whereby a mapping-enabled application is created to fit the customer’s exact needs. The application will have a user interface that is tailored for the intended audience and will include functionality that supports the customer’s business aims.
The application will be powered by Geoplan’s trusted GeoAnalyser application and data, although other data sets may also be used. With GeoAnalyser’s wide-ranging features hidden from view, the application can be focussed on business goals and will require minimal training. Integration with line-of-business applications and databases is also possible.
For simpler applications that are targeted at a large audience, Geoplan can offer web development services. Geoplan web services can be built to offer many of the facilities of desktop applications, without the need for per-machine installations.

Our key implementation success to date is the distribution of a CD-based sales presentation and planning system that incorporates mapping, reporting and database functions to support the sales process. This system is currently utilised by a telesales and field sales force of over 2,500 personnel.

Geoplan has developed a simple mapping system for use on laptop in the field by the Sales Personnel of a leading pharmaceutical company.
The broad aim of the system was to put customer and sales performance mapping in the hands of individual team members. The system had to be extremely easy to use, easily updated from Head Office and easily deployed, requiring minimal training.
The focus of the system is to put customer and prospect mapping, for a given sales territory on the hands of the sales team. Each team member can review there own performance, by channel, product and geographic area. New sales performance data is uploaded into the system on a monthly basis from the web. Using this information, sales effort can be understood and directed as necessity to minimise waste and improve performance.
