
5 Minutes with Phil Caldwell - Gunn JCB
1- Please could you tell us a little about your role for Gunn JCB and how the Geoplan system is used?
My role at Gunn JCB is Sales Systems Manager. I mainly look after our electronic price book and product database.
We have had the Geoplan product for about 10 years, I have been involved with it for the last 12 months and we use it to map our construction, agricultural and industrial divisions sales areas.
2- Please could you confirm what key benefits are associated with your Geoplan System?
The product is very versatile and enables us to make changes to sales areas very quickly.
We can also produce quality colour prints very easily
3- In terms of quantifying the benefits of the Geoplan Solution, what savings in terms of time or revenue have Gunn JCB seen over the last 5 years?
I can't comment on the last 5 years but I know that we expect to ramp up the product useage and analyse customer spend data so that the sales force can get a clear picture of who is spending in their area's
4- If you could outline three areas where Geoplan excels, what would those be?
The actual product and what it produces, the back up is excellent and the customer focus is very impressive
5- If you could outline three areas where Geoplan could improve, what would those be?
I would struggle to name three to be honest - my only suggestion would be that the product is a little more user friendly on the data input, but I assume that the planned product upgrade will take care of this
6- What makes Geoplan different as an organisation?
As I said before, the customer focus is excellent and when I have to call the helpdesk (which is often) I don’t feel like it's too much trouble for them the assist with any query / problems we have. The product is important but good back up is essential
