USER TIPS
Tip 17 - StreetFinder - Using the "Goal Seek"
Often when creating routes within StreetFinder, a user will have a target or optimum number of deliveries that they want to reach within an individual route. This can be difficult and time consuming to meet as it may well require a manual approach to adding/removing singular streets until the target is met.
Fortunately Geoplan have provide a function within StreetFinder that will help with this situation. The “Goal Seek” allows the user to assign a centre point for their route, assign a target number of deliveries, then let the software do the rest! Goal Seek will automatically create a route close to your target delivery count, saving you valuable time.

To use Goal Seek:
- Select Tools > Goal Seek.
- Enter the number of Delivery Counts (letterboxes) you wish to capture.
- Choose to include Residential, Businesses or both.
- Set the Start Point which allows you to choose the centre starting point.
- Click OK to run the Goal Seek.
The results will show the streets both on the map and in the Data panel.
Tip 18 - GeoAnalyser - Customising the Map Background
When creating maps within GeoAnalyser or using the UK Map Template, the default background will always be blue (to represent the sea). This is a useful as it is generally the colour users expect to see outside of the UK boundaries and will be applicable to most map output.
However, Geoplan recognise that many users may require the ability to change this colour e.g. for printing or for visual purposes. Therefore we have provided the option to modify the background colour within the software:

To allow you to change the map background, do the following:
- Open the Options menu (Map > Options)
- Click on the button labelled Background Style
- This will launch the Area Style dialog allowing you to modify the background appearance.
- Select the background colour you require.
