USER TIPS

User Tip 1 - Saving time for GeoAnalyser users

You can save time on repetitive tasks, such as Imports, Queries and Calculations, by saving the instructions to the dictionary.

Action:
After setting up a query for example to append data, select ‘Save’ before selecting ‘Run’. This saves the instructions to your dictionary, and lists them under ‘Saved Queries’.

This is particularly useful after changing territories and sites or after a Postcode update - just re-run the query from the ‘Saved Queries’ dropdown.

Hint:
If the data table you are querying changes, either change the link in your dictionary to read the new file, or just replace the old file.

User Tip 2 – Ask the map

Did you know that by simply clicking on the map you can find out more about individual Postcodes or Pins?

Clicking the ‘i’ button opens a ‘query’ window. Postcode Areas and Districts or if you are working with a Geoplan Expert system you can choose Postcode Sectors.

Click on the map to reveal a wealth of information about the selected area. If you import your own data table or pins, this information can also be queried from the map – just remember to select ‘hold for query’ whilst importing.

Hint:
Use the dialogue roll up function to have quick access to this useful query tool.
