Tip 7 - Balancing Territories using Monitored Variable (GeoAnalyser)

Manually balancing territories within GeoAnalyser can involve complex calculations and manipulation of large sets of data. Save time and increase visibility by utilising the Monitored variable option.

Action:
Open up your territories file and navigate to the Edit Control Panel. Click on the Options panel and select the Monitored variable drop down menu.

Select the variable from which you want to balance your territories and then click OK.

The Edit Control Panel will now show a graphical representation of the variable total for each territory which updates dynamically whenever components are added/removed. A white line representing the average total provides a useful tool to enable you to efficiently balance your territories on the fly.

Tip 8 - Layer Control (Atlas Products)

Often it is impractical to show all your map data at the same time, as important detail can be lost in a crowd of needless information. Using the layer control you can customise your maps to only show the data that you require, improving the representation of your output.

Example:
The map below demonstrates how a map can quickly become cluttered when mapping both pins and thematic data.

By opening the Map Layers from the Map menu you can select which layers you would like to add or remove from the map, together with the option of labels.

To quickly remove the majority of the default map layers, select Minimum and finish by clicking Apply.

With the layers removed, a more clearer and uncluttered map is displayed, providing you with a better tool for decision making and visualising your data.
