Geoplan achieve Gold and become a Champion!
Geoplan has been committed to Investors in People for almost a decade, and the framework is a cornerstone of our business management system. The IIP framework and philosophy is aligned to our core aims, and supports our approach to improving business performance through our people.
Our re-assessment visit was in December 2010, where we elected to extend the standard review process, to set ourselves the challenge of attaining IIP’s new ‘additional recognitions’ of either Bronze, Silver or Gold status.
After a thorough review and assessment process involving everyone in the business, we were delighted to be awarded with IIP’s Gold status.
Additional recognitions represent the top 5% of recognised Investors in People in the country, and less than 1% of IIP organisations achieve Gold status. Gold status requires a minimum achievement of 165 evidence requirements, which includes at least 126 beyond the Investors in People standard. Geoplan achieved a total of 186 evidence requirements, exceeding the target by some way.
This is an exceptional achievement of world-class best practice, and marks Geoplan out as a truly cutting edge organisation operating at the very highest levels of people management practice.

IIP Gold status provided us with the opportunity to apply to become an ‘Investors in People Champion’ and in March 2011 we had the honour of being accepted.
Geoplan was also selected as one of four IIP Gold status organisations, to be profiled in a speech given by Dr Vince Cable, the Business Secretary, at the British Chamber of Commerce Conference in April 2011.
