There were two key tasks that the client needed to address:
- The client needed to look at its customer base across all business sectors, reviewing the volume, profitability and which production unit serviced each outlet currently.
- The client was to open a new state-of-the-art plant and to close some older capacity, and needed to look at ‘what if’ scenarios relating to servicing customers from the new plant.
The client has used Geoplan GeoAnalyser software to display its outlet data with a simple bi-variate hot/cold legend for volume and profitability. Different slices of the data were taken by business sector and source works to highlight anomalies where an improvement needed to be made in profitability or service.
