Using the Search Tool

Step One

Open the search tool - To search for a territory on the map. Open an existing project and then select the Search tool to the right of the map.

Step Two

Choose the type of search - From the Search panel, you can select any layer from your project, system data layers and also access the Google search tool from the dropdown box.

Step Three

Perform your search - To perform a search, select from the list what type of search you wish to perform and then type into the search box. Click Search to return a list of matching locations.

Step Four

Jump to the location on the map - Once the search has been performed and the list of options are displayed in the search panel, select the territory you wish to jump to on the map. The map will update and highlight the location on the map.

Using the Info Tool

Step One

Open the Info Tool - To find information about territories on the map, Open an existing project and then select the Info Tool to the right of the map.

Step Two

Choose the type of information - From the Info panel, you can select any layer from your project and also system data layers from the info tool dropdown box.

Step Three

Information selection - From the dropdown box select the type of information you would like to interrogate, then click on the feature on the map to reveal the details associated with it.

Using the Select Tool

Step One

Select Tool options - To access the Select Tool you must be at Project level and not Layer level. The header at the top of the left hand panel will indicate the level. If it shows Layer, click on the Project arrow to return to Project level. There are 3 tools that you can use to select data from the map:

Single Select – Select a single feature on the map.

Radial Select – Click and drag to draw a radius around a set of features.

Area Select – Click and drag to draw a specific area on the map.

Step Two

Choose a Select Tool - Click on one of the Select Tools such as the Drag a Radius tool. The Selection Layer option will display at the bottom of the screen.

Step Three

Choose which layer to select - Use the dropdown from the Selection Layer box and select the layer you wish to use. The layer options will be all of the system data layers and any my data layers within the project.

Step Four

Draw selection on the map - Once the selection layer has been chosen, draw around the area of interest on the map.

Step Five

Open Data View to see selected features - After selecting the area, the data view will automatically open and show the data associated with the selected features.
