HOW DO THE R74-2 CHANGES AFFECT YOU?
The data changes made within every update could have major implications when using Geoplan software for planning or analysis purposes. By ensuring the software is kept up to date, you can be confident in the accuracy of the relevant output, for example (but not limited to) the following:

- Accurate plotting of customer or prospect locations.
- Efficient and up to date sales territory structures.
- Accurate sales performance analysis.
- Correct targeting of market resource.
- By not updating Geoplan Postcode software, systems will quickly become out of date and accuracy of analysis / results may be compromised. We therefore recommend that you apply your update at the earliest opportunity.
DETAILED CHANGES BY PRODUCT
Release Date - August 2022
PAF Data
- The R74-2 data is sourced from the July 2022 release of PAF, replacing the March 2022 (R74) PAF data.
- The changes include a mixture of new addresses added, old addresses being removed and some addresses changed.
- Premise Level PAF - Number of records has increased by 89,952 from 31,346,795 at the previous release to 31,436,747 at R74-2.
- Postcode Level PAF - Number of records has increased by 2,885 from 2,088,040 at the previous release to 2,090,925 at R74-2.
Geoplan Census Sector Pack
- There is 1 new postcode sector at R74-2. The new sector is: TF2 5
- The total number of Postcode Sectors at R74-2 is 9570.
- 2011 census counts have been projected to reflect latest changes in residential delivery counts.
SuperPro Postcode Sector Boundaries
- There is 1 new postcode sector at R74-2. The new sector is: TF2 5
- The total number of Postcode Sectors at R74-2 is 9570.
- In addition to the new sectors the boundaries have been improved to reflect changes in the Postcode Address File.
- 2011 census counts have been projected to reflect latest changes in residential delivery counts.
Geopoint
- 6,159 new Postcodes have been introduced, with high concentrations in Birmingham (B), Nottingham (NG) and Coventry (CV).
- 3,518 postcodes that were available at R74, are no longer valid at R74-2.
- Total number of postcodes at R74-2 is now 1,789,374 - an increase of 2,641.
Geopoint Plus
- 6,159 new Postcodes have been introduced, with high concentrations in Birmingham (B), Nottingham (NG) and Coventry (CV).
- 3,518 postcodes that were available at R74, are no longer valid at R74-2.
- Total number of postcodes at R74-2 is now 1,789,374 - an increase of 2,641.
- Delivery count information is included based on July 2022 PAF data.
Geopoint XT
- 8,867 new Postcodes have been introduced, with high concentrations in Cambridge (CB), Birmingham (B) and Peterborough (PE).
- 4,837 postcodes that were available at R74, are no longer valid at R74-2.
- Total number of postcodes at R74 is now 1,777,410 - an increase of 4,030.
SuperPro Postcode Unit Boundaries
- The R74-2 product is now based on July 2022 postcode geography.
- There have been 5,291 new postcode unit boundaries added and 2,362 removed.
- The total number of postcode units at R74-2 is 1,711,690.
Open Sector Boundaries
- There is 1 new postcode Sector at R74-2. The new sector is: TF2 5
- The total number of Postcode Sectors at R74-2 is 9570.
- The R74-2 product is now based on July 2022 postcode geography.
XT Postcode Sector, District and Area (SDA) Boundaries
- The XT SDA Boundaries are now based upon July 2022 Royal Mail PAF.
- There are now 9,624 Postcode Sectors, an increase of 4 from R74.
- There are now 2,855 Postcode Districts, an increase of 1 from R74.
- The number of Postcode Areas remains the same at 124.
- Census Demographic data has been updated, by projecting the figures in line with the residential delivery counts at R74-2.
XT Postcode Unit Boundaries
- The XT Unit Boundaries have been updated to reflect changes in the July 2022 postcode geography.
- There are now 1,772,097 postcode unit boundaries, an increase of 2,265 from R74.
