R75-2 Update

HOW DO THE R75-2 CHANGES AFFECT YOU? 

The data changes made within every update could have major implications when using Geoplan software for planning or analysis purposes. By ensuring the software is kept up to date, you can be confident in the accuracy of the relevant output, for example (but not limited to) the following: 

  • Accurate plotting of customer or prospect locations.
  • Efficient and up to date sales territory structures.
  • Accurate sales performance analysis.
  • Correct targeting of market resource.
  • By not updating Geoplan Postcode software, systems will quickly become out of date and accuracy of analysis / results may be compromised. We therefore recommend that you apply your update at the earliest opportunity.

DETAILED CHANGES BY PRODUCT 

Release Date - February-March 2023

PAF Data 

  • The R75-2 data is sourced from the January 2023 release of PAF, replacing the September 2022 (R75) PAF data.
  • The changes include a mixture of new addresses added, old addresses being removed and some addresses changed.
  • Premise Level PAF - Number of records has increased by 90,611 from 31,482,750 at the previous release to 31,573,361 at R75-2.
  • Postcode Level PAF - Number of records has increased by 2,499 from 2,092,246 at the previous release to 2,094,745 at R75-2.

Geoplan Census Sector Pack 

  • There is 1 new postcode sector at R75-2. The new sector is IP11 6.
  • The total number of Postcode Sectors at R75-2 is 9,571.
  • 2011 census counts have been projected to reflect latest changes in residential delivery counts.

SuperPro Postcode Sector Boundaries

  • There is 1 new postcode sector at R75-2. The new sector is IP11 6.
  • The total number of Postcode Sectors at R75-2 is 9,571.
  • In addition to the new sectors the boundaries have been improved to reflect changes in the Postcode Address File.
  • 2011 census counts have been projected to reflect latest changes in residential delivery counts.

Geopoint

  • 6,471 new postcodes have been introduced, with high concentrations in Birmingham (B), Nottingham (NG) and Sheffield (S).
  • 3,899 postcodes that were available at R75, are no longer valid at R75-2.
  • Total number of postcodes at R75-2 is now 1,793,142 - an increase of 2,572.

Geopoint Plus

  • 6,471 new postcodes have been introduced, with high concentrations in Birmingham (B), Nottingham (NG) and Sheffield (S).
  • 3,899 postcodes that were available at R75, are no longer valid at R75-2.
  • Total number of postcodes at R75-2 is now 1,793,142 - an increase of 2,572.
  • Delivery count information is included based on January 2023 PAF data.

Geopoint XT

  • 6,283 new postcodes have been introduced, with high concentrations in Birmingham (B), Sheffield (S) and South West London (SW).
  • 3,673 postcodes that were available at R75, are no longer valid at R75-2.
  • Total number of postcodes at R75-2 is now 1,780,020 - an increase of 2,610.

Open Sector Boundaries 

  • There is 1 new postcode sector at R75-2. The new sector is IP11 6.
  • The total number of Postcode Sectors at R75-2 is 9,571.
  • The R75-2 product is now based on January 2023 postcode geography.

SuperPro Postcode Unit Boundaries

  • The R75-2 product is now based on January 2023 postcode geography.
  • There have been 5,467 new postcode unit boundaries added and 2,425 removed.
  • The total number of postcode units at R75-2 is 1,716,253.

XT Postcode Unit Boundaries

  • The XT Unit Boundaries have been updated to reflect changes in the January 2023 postcode geography.
  • There are now 1,776,426 postcode unit boundaries, an increase of 2,540 from R75.

XT Postcode Sector, District and Area (SDA) Boundaries

  • The XT SDA Boundaries are now based upon January 2023 Royal Mail PAF.
  • There are now 9,630 Postcode Sectors, an increase of 3 from R75.
  • There are now 2854 Postcode Districts, a decrease of 1 from R75.
  • The number of Postcode Areas remains the same at 124.
  • Census Demographic data has been updated, by projecting the figures in line with the residential delivery counts at R75-2.
