R77 Update

KEY CHANGES AT R77

Please see below the key postcode changes that have occurred at this release:  

HOW DO THE R77 CHANGES AFFECT YOU?  

The data changes made within every update could have major implications when using Geoplan software for planning or analysis purposes. By ensuring the software is kept up to date, you can be confident in the accuracy of the relevant output, for example (but not limited to) the following:  

• Accurate plotting of customer or prospect locations.  
• Efficient and up to date sales territory structures.  
• Accurate sales performance analysis.  
• Correct targeting of market resource.  
• By not updating Geoplan Postcode software, systems will quickly become out of date and accuracy of analysis / results may be compromised. We therefore recommend that you apply your update at the earliest opportunity.  

DETAILED CHANGES BY PRODUCT  

Release Date - October 2023

PAF Data  

• The R77 data is sourced from the September 2023 release of PAF, replacing the July 2023 (R76-2) PAF data.
• The changes include a mixture of new addresses added, old addresses being removed and some addresses changed.  
• Premise Level PAF - Number of records has increased by 41,111 from 31,701,202 at the previous release, to 31,742,313 at R77.
• Postcode Level PAF - Number of records has increased by 1,035 from 2,098,088 at the previous release, to 2,099,123 at R77.
  

Geoplan Census Sector Pack

• There are 4 new Postcode Sectors at R77. The new Sectors are:
  -NR8 7
  -PE11 5
  -RH12 6
  -SN3 0
• The total number of Postcode Sectors at R77 is 9,575.
• 2011 census counts have been projected to reflect latest changes in residential delivery counts.
  

SuperPro Postcode Sector Boundaries

• There are 4 new Postcode Sectors at R77. The new Sectors are:
  -NR8 7
  -PE11 5
  -RH12 6
  -SN3 0
• The total number of Postcode Sectors at R77 is 9,575.
• 2011 census counts have been projected to reflect latest changes in residential delivery counts.
  

Geopoint

• 2,789 new postcodes have been introduced, with high concentrations in Birmingham (B), Edinburgh (EH) and Sheffield (S).
• 1,892 postcodes that were available at R76-2, are no longer valid at R77.  
• Total number of postcodes at R77 is now 1,797,390 - an increase of 897.
  

Geopoint Plus

• 2,789 new postcodes have been introduced, with high concentrations in Birmingham (B), Edinburgh (EH) and Sheffield (S).
• 1,892 postcodes that were available at R76-2, are no longer valid at R77.
• Total number of postcodes at R77 is now 1,797,390 - an increase of 897.
• Delivery count information is included based on September 2023 PAF data.
  

Geopoint XT

• 3,222 new postcodes have been introduced, with high concentrations in Sheffield (S), Chelmsford (CH) and Birmingham (B).
• 2,224 postcodes that were available at R76-2, are no longer valid at R77.
• Total number of postcodes at R77 is now 1,785,086 - an increase of 998.
  

Open Sector Boundaries

• There are 4 new Postcode Sectors at R77. The new Sectors are:
  -NR8 7
  -PE11 5
  -RH12 6
  -SN3 0
• The total number of Postcode Sectors at R77 is 9,575.
• 2011 census counts have been projected to reflect latest changes in residential delivery counts.
  

XT Postcode Unit Boundaries

• The XT Unit Boundaries have been updated to reflect changes in the September 2023 postcode geography.
• There are now 1,781,846 Postcode Unit boundaries, an increase of 1,350 from R76-2.
  

XT Postcode Sector, District and Area (SDA) Boundaries

• The XT SDA Boundaries are now based upon September 2023 Royal Mail PAF.
• The number of Postcode Sectors has increased by 4 to 9,637.
• The number of Postcode Districts has decreased by 1 to 2,853.
• The number of Postcode Areas remains the same at 124.
  

SuperPro Postcode Unit Boundaries

• The R77 product is based on September 2023 postcode geography.
• There have been 2,805 new postcode unit boundaries added and 1,673 removed.
• The total number of postcode units at R77 is 1,720,909.
