SKiN Software Release R67 - December 2018

We are pleased to confirm that the SKiN software has been updated. This update contains a number of different components which are detailed below. This data has been updated to reflect the changes to Postcode Geography supplied at Release 67.

What has changed?

KEY CHANGES AT R67

Please see below the key postcode changes that have occurred at this release:

  • New Postcode Sectors: CB24 1 in Cambridge, CB3 1 in Cambridge, CV23 1 in Coventry.
  • Geoplan have made improvements to over 100 Postcode Sector Boundaries to accommodate building developments, which result in changes to postcode distribution, such as new housing estates and commercial developments.
  • New Postcodes added: Over 5,300 new Postcodes have been introduced with high concentrations in South East London (SE), Birmingham (B) and Reading (RG).
  • Invalid Postcodes removed: Over 3,400 Postcodes that were valid at the previous release, are no longer valid at R67.

HOW DO THE R67 CHANGES AFFECT YOU?

The data changes made within every update could have major implications when using Geoplan software for planning or analysis purposes. By ensuring the software is kept up to date, you can be confident in the accuracy of the relevant output, for example (but not limited to) the following:

  • Accurate plotting of customer or prospect locations.
  • Efficient and up to date sales territory structures.
  • Accurate sales performance analysis.
  • Correct targeting of market resource.

By not updating Geoplan Postcode software, systems will quickly become out of date and accuracy of analysis / results may be compromised. We therefore recommend that you apply your update at the earliest opportunity.

DETAILED CHANGES BY PRODUCT

SKiN Mapping Software

  • The R67 data is sourced from the September 2018 release of PAF, replacing the June 2018 (R66-2) PAF data.
  • New Postcode Sectors: CB24 1 in Cambridge, CB3 1 in Cambridge, CV23 1 in Coventry.
  • Geoplan have made improvements to over 100 Postcode Sector Boundaries to accommodate building developments, which result in changes to postcode distribution, such as new housing estates and commercial developments.
  • New Postcodes added: Over 5,300 new Postcodes have been introduced with high concentrations in South East London (SE), Birmingham (B) and Reading (RG).
  • Invalid Postcodes removed: Over 3,400 Postcodes that were valid at the previous release, are no longer valid at R67.
  • Over 68,000 postcodes geographical positions have been improved at R67.
  • Census Demographics: Data has been updated, by projecting the figures in line with the residential delivery counts at R67.

PAF Data

  • The R67 data is sourced from the September 2018 release of PAF, replacing the June 2018 (R66-2) PAF data.
  • The changes include a mixture of new addresses added, old addresses being removed and some addresses changed.
  • Postcode Level PAF - Number of records has increased by 2,223 from 2,062,507 at the previous release to 2,064,750 at R67.
  • Premise Level PAF - Number of records has increased by 93,222 from 30,257,461 at the previous release to 30,350,683 at R67.

Geopoint

  • 5,388 new Postcodes have been introduced with high concentrations in South East London (SE), Birmingham (B) and Reading (RG).
  • 3,446 postcodes that were available at R66-2, are no longer valid at R67.
  • Total number of postcodes at R67 is now 1,766,544 - an increase of 1,942.
  • Over 68,000 postcodes geographical positions have been improved at R67.
  • Attribute counts (delivery counts and Posttown) are available via the Geopoint Plus product.

Geopoint XT

  • The R67 product is now based on July 2018 postcode geography.
  • There are 5,312 new Postcodes in R67.
  • There are 2,911 postcodes from the previous supply that are no longer valid in R67.
  • The total Number of Postcodes at R67 has increased by 2,401 from 1,751,764 to 1,754,165.
  • Over 65,000 postcodes geographical positions have been improved at R67.
  • Attribute counts (delivery counts and Posttown) are available via the Geopoint XT Plus product.

Geoplan XT Sector, District and Area Boundaries

  • The boundaries have been updated to reflect changes in the July 2018 postcode geography.

Geoplan XT Unit Boundaries

  • The boundaries have been updated to reflect changes in the July 2018 postcode geography.

SuperPro Postcode Sector Boundaries

  • Postcode Boundaries reflect the R67 data sourced from the September 2018 release of Royal Mail’s PAF data product.
  • New Postcode Sectors: CB24 1 in Cambridge, CB3 1 in Cambridge, CV23 1 in Coventry.
  • Geoplan have made improvements to over 100 Postcode Sector Boundaries to accommodate building developments, which result in changes to postcode distribution, such as new housing estates and commercial developments.

  • Census Demographic data has been updated, by projecting the figures in line with the residential delivery counts at R67.

Geoplan Census Sector Pack

  • The R67 product includes 2011 census counts projected to reflect changes in residential delivery counts.

Administrative Boundaries

  • The R67 product is based on the May 2018 Boundary-Line release from Ordnance Survey.
